Bumi EXP: Creative Gatherings Rooted in Living Land

Something new is growing at Bumi Cinta.. and it has been quietly taking shape.

If you have spent time here, you already know that something happens on this land that is difficult to put into words. The hills of North Bali have a quality. The village of Les has a presence. And the people who find their way to Tejakula tend to be the kind of people who are in the middle of something — a project, a question, a transition, a vision that is in the process of becoming.

Bumi EXP was born from that observation. Not only as an offering, but as a container. A recurring invitation to gather deliberately, on living land, with people doing meaningful work in the world.

What is Bumi EXP?

Bumi EXP is an experiential and experimental seasonal event series for change-makers, artists, and visionaries. It lives under the roof of Bumi Cinta but has its own character — part creative residency, part collaborative gathering, part experiment in what becomes possible when the right people are in the same place at the same time.

Each edition is shaped by a theme, a season, and the specific energy of the people who show up. The earth as collaborator. The village as witness. The people in the room as the variable that changes everything.

We have held a Christmas gathering to close the year with presence rather than noise. We have gathered in the spirit of Wintering Together; slowing down, going inward, letting things rest before they rise.

And now, with spring in the air, we are opening the doors again.

Why here? Why this land?

Bumi Cinta sits deep in the hills of Tejakula on the Northshore of Bali, a landscape that moves between mountain and sea, between the sacred and the elemental. Bumi means earth. Cinta means love. The name is not a brand choice. It is a description of what this place actually is. If you know, you know. Something happens here that changes from the inner voice, to the observer, to something much greater.

The retreat is built on principles drawn from Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of harmony between Spirit, Land, and People. These are not decorative ideas here. They are the architecture. The bamboo domes have no walls. The spring water comes directly from the mountain. The village of Les pre-existed the retreat, and the community has grown around it, not the other way around.

This is the kind of place that does something to people. Not because it performs transformation, but because when you remove the noise, the land does its work, and you remember what you actually think.

Spring Forward — April 19 to 26, 2026

Something shifts at the turn of a season. Spring Forward is a week on the land for people arriving with something alive in them — a venture, a vision, a question that has been asking for space. A new project or one already in motion. A dream quietly forming. An infusion of renewed energy. Something on the edge of becoming.

Mornings open with meditation and movement. Days unfold with spacious time for solo focus and the slower conversations that don't happen when you're busy. Nourishing shared meals from the land. Evenings around fire, music, and open skies.

Throughout the week we hold a series of salon style sessions — small roundtables where one person at a time brings a live enquiry, project, or decision point into the room. Collaborative thinking. Honest reflection. The kind of support that can unlock something you have been sitting with.

Around the table you might find founders, designers, storytellers, facilitators, technologists, practitioners, and creatives; all grounded people doing meaningful work, with the drive to make things happen.

Spring Forward is intentionally small. Participation is by referral and a short registration process — this allows us to shape a group field with the diverse mix of perspectives, backgrounds, and intentions that makes these gatherings what they are.

Stay close to what is coming

Bumi EXP runs in cycles. The gatherings evolve, the themes shift with the seasons and the times, and the community that forms around them is the most alive part of the whole thing.

What else can you expect coming from Bumi Exp? Dinner gatherings with presentations, discussion, music and spa. Exp Ignite Talks — bring something you're cooking and share your ideas. Workshops on learning, growing, and building resiliency during ever-changing times. Day-long and weekend Co-Live Co-Work sessions — retreat with purpose, rest, connection and re-commitment to what matters.

This offering is not for everyone. If you found us, please read our mission and intention and seek within you if this community is a place you can meet and be met.

If all this feels like a yes, join our community. The best place to stay across what is coming — early access, invitations, updates from the land — is inside the Bumi EXP WhatsApp community. It is where the conversation continues between gatherings, where new editions are announced first, and where the people who feel called to this kind of thing tend to find each other.

See what begins to grow.
